Sustainable Management

If you are concerned about the origin of wood and sustainability, you can rest assured that at ArboREAL, we work with raw materials from sustainable forest management, a process certified by IBAMA, No. 6447757.

Another very important aspect we consider is personally knowing all our suppliers and the forests from which we obtain our raw materials. In sustainable management, the person in charge of the area selects and catalogs the trees. Only a few trees are suitable for cutting (they must have a minimum diameter, not fall on protected species, not have nests, or be reproductive matrices). Access roads are carefully planned to preserve fauna and flora, and this entire process helps minimize illegal logging.

The management area, called the Forest Management Unit (UMF), is divided into 30 Annual Production Units (UPA). Over 30 years, the extraction of raw materials is carried out in the UMF, with only one UPA being used each year. The quantity of trees removed is planned considering the natural regeneration of the forest, which occurs during the rotation period of use between the UPAs.

Each tree is assigned a code that accompanies the wood throughout the production chain, from the forest to our factory. Each log segmentation is done to maximize its use and preserve the original identification, requiring a high level of control throughout the process. Bark, fissures, knots, and branches, considered defects in other industrial segments, add beauty and uniqueness to our pieces.

The tree's traceability (GPS coordinates) that originated your piece and the documentation are guarantees of the legal origin of the wood.
